Meet The Team...

We provide a staffing ratio in line with and where possible, above the Welfare requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that children have sufficient individual attention and to guarantee care and education of a high quality.

Each child’s dedicated Key Person will be on hand to record your child’s achievements and share them with you at regular intervals. Your child’s Key Person will shadow them to ensure your child is involved in a variety of activities throughout the day. They structure your child’s day through regular planning with all members of our qualified team and make staff aware of any special needs your child may have. We are confident that our staff provides the very best care for your child at all times and are totally committed to their development. All of our Key Persons are fully qualified; peadiatric first aid, safeguarding trained and together has over 55 years of combined Childcare experience. We have experienced Makaton and Wellcome speech therapy trained staff, which enables us to offer each child a holistic approach to their learning. This was noted in our most recent Outstanding Ofsted report.

Liz Llewellyn – General Manager/SENCO

I was first introduced to the playgroup when my eldest Oliver and then Thomas, progressed from playgroup through to school. I started working at the Playgroup in 2012 and am qualified to NVQ3 level in childcare, have attended an Advanced Safeguarding children course and am the Designated Safeguarding Person and Officer. As with all our team members I am a qualified paediatric first aider which is renewed every 3 years by attending a 12 hour course. Alongside Jo Collins I am Wellcome speech therapy trained.

Rebecca Evison – Manager

I am a mum of two children and both started with Bengeo playgroup. I volunteered on the committee as a ENCO(and face painter!), when my son started at the playgroup 13 years ago.  Since having my second child I changed my job to better fit with my family. I worked for a number of years for a volunteering charity, running mentoring and befriending projects, working with children and young people supported by social services, before becoming a childminder. I am qualified to level NVQ 3 in childcare, have attended a designated safeguarding course and am a Paediatric first aider.

Sue Luck – Deputy Manager
I have worked in Bengeo School for 10 years and in Busy Lizzies Kids Club for 2 years. I have 3 children and recently became a Nanny. I am NVQ 2 Qualified in early years education and am a qualified paediatric first aider. I have also attended a safeguarding course and hold a food hygiene level 2 certificate.

Kerri McNeil – Key Worker
I am NVQ level 3 qualified in childcare and have 12 years of experience working in the early years sector. I have attended various courses throughout my experience and hold safeguarding certificates and am paediatric first aid trained. I have a 5 year old boy who keeps me busy but I always enjoy coming into work to have fun with the children and watch them grow and develop during their time with us.

Shelley Balaam – Key Person
I joined Bengeo Playgroup in January 2019 initially as a relief staff member and have a vast amount of experience working with children as I have 5 of my own! I am now qualified to NVQ level 2 in childcare. I have lived in Bengeo all my life with my children having attended Bengeo Primary and therefore know most of the parents as well as the children. A lot of you will know that I am Mrs Pearce's daughter so I have had a great mentor in helping children.

Leila Forsyth – Key Person

I have recently joined Bengeo Playgroup after working at our sister setting Busy Lizzies Preschool for over 3 years. I am NNEB trained and have many years of experience in working with children in a range of roles from being a Nanny to working in various Nurseries over the years. I have two children of my own, a boy aged 16 and a girl aged 12years. I have attended a safeguarding course and am Paediatric first aid trained.

Lin Skidmore – One to One support

I was a childminder for 12 years before starting at the Playgroup in September 2008. I live with my husband and we have a grown up daughter. In my spare time I like to keep fit and took part in the Race for Life to help raise funds for cancer research. I am qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and have attended both a basic and advanced training course on safeguarding children. I am a qualified paediatric first aider and have attended an advanced makaton course which I put into practice at each session.

Alison Bradshaw – Key Person

I have over 20 years experience working as a Nursery Nurse in schools in London & Hertfordshire. I also previously worked with children in care. I live with my husband and a very large dog. We have 3 grown up children and a granddaughter. I hold a current Peadiatric first aid certificate. I have completed a makaton course. As well as safeguarding and Prevent training. I am also WellCom speech and language trained.
